Project Scoping Document
A project scoping document was prepared in June 2006 for the then NSW Department of Planning (DoP). This document provided a briefing on the site and the project, and sought confirmation from DoP that the project will be considered under Part 3A of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act (NSW) 1979 (EP&A Act). It also sought the Director-General's Environmental Assessment Requirements for preparation of an Environmental Assessment.
The document was updated in September 2007 following a decision to submit a Project Approval Application for Stages 1 and 2 and not to proceed with a Concept Approval Application.
Director-General's Environmental Assessment Requirements
The DoP provided Director-General's Requirements for preparation of an Environmental Assessment in September 2006.
Environmental Assessment
A draft Environmental Assessment was lodged with the DoP on 19 December 2008 for its review prior to being finalised for public exhibition.
The final Environmental Assessment for the Stage 1 and 2 developments was submitted to the NSW Department of Planning in August 2009. It was publicly exhibited from 2 September 2009 for 30 days.
During 2010 Orica undertook additional traffic and flood studies, following public submissions and feedback from independent reviews commissioned by the NSW Department of Planning. Orica prepared and submitted a response to submissions to the Department of Planning and Infrastructure.
