Settlement Monitoring Report

The purpose of settlement monitoring is to identify the occurrence of subsidence resulting from groundwater extraction undertaken by Orica as part of the Botany Groundwater Cleanup Project. There are 21 settlement plates at and in the vicinity of the three groundwater containment lines:

• Botany Industrial Park containment line;
• Primary Containment Area; and
• Secondary Containment Area.

Following installation, the heights and locations of the majority of the settlement plates and benchmarks were surveyed on a number of occasions. The results of these surveys are presented in the reports found below.
