Independent Validation Audits 

Under Condition E5.1 of Orica's Environmental Protection Licence No 2148 (formerly Condition E12), Orica is required to engage an independent auditor to undertake comprehensive validation audits of the Groundwater Cleanup Project. Orica has engaged Ken Holmes, Accredited Lead Auditor of KMH Environmental Pty Ltd, to undertake these audits.

The validation audits are required to be undertaken for the first two years of Groundwater Treatment Plant operation and then thereafter as required by the NSW Department of Environmen, Climate Change and Water. A further audit was required in 2008. An audit was not required in 2009.

The objectives of the Audit are to:

1. Assess whether the Groundwater Cleanup Project is being carried out in accordance with the relevant Approvals and Licence conditions and the requirements of each relevant authority.

2. Assess the project against the predictions made in the Environmental Impact Statement and supporting documents.
